Today, Sunday, March 19, 2023, the Yemen for Cancer Care and Charity Foundation held a party on the occasion of the anniversary of its establishment in Egypt under the auspices of the Yemeni ambassador in Cairo and the Dean of the Arab diplomatic corps, Dr. Muhammad Ali Maram.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Haj Abdul Wasee Hael, Chairman of the Founders Council, in his speech welcomed the attendees. He pointed to the justifications for the establishment of the Foundation and how it was imposed by the urgent need to provide medical services that were prevented from entering Yemen due to the tragic war. He explained how a cancer patient who needs atomic scanning or radioactive iodine service is forced to travel outside Yemen to obtain these services, while poor patients do not find anyone to help them travel abroad for treatment. He added that the Foundation selects every period a group of these poor people who are eligible for the service and covers all costs of their travel and medications in Egypt until the end of the treatment period and returning home after recovering from the disease. Hajj Abdul Wasee Hayel thanked everyone who contributed to the establishment of the Foundation and the continuation of its charitable activities throughout the past period.
He said that the Foundation today celebrates a year of giving and healing.He sent special greetings to the Arab Republic of Egypt, represented by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to the government and the Egyptian people for embracing Yemenis with friendliness and welcome.
He also pointed out that the Foundation provided its services to about 1762 patients during the first year, and seeks to develop and expand its services during the coming period.
On the same level, the Ambassador of Yemen and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador Muhammad Marem, praised the efforts of the Foundation despite the short period of its work, promising more care and support in the future. He called on businessmen to contribute to the continuation of this successful institution, which formed a point of light for Yemeni cancer patients in Egypt.
For his part, Mr. Muhammad Al-Mujahid, Chairman of the Yemeni Business Council in Egypt, congratulated the Foundation leadership and employees for these tangible achievements in serving Yemeni patients, expressing the need for solidarity for all businessmen to contribute to supporting the Foundation and serving cancer patients.
Many artistic presentations of children , technical paragraphs were introduced.
An introductory reports of the Foundation and its services have been delivered about a full year since its inception in April 2022.
The event was attended by former Yemeni President Ali Nasser Mohammed, Ambassador Dr. Abdul Wali Al-Shamiri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, of the Foundation, some members of the Yemen House of Representatives and the Shura Council, politicians, diplomats, businessmen and women, and a large crowd of Yemeni and Egyptian civil society organizations
