The Yemen Foundation for Cancer Patients Care and Charitable Works held a reception party at its headquarters in Cairo today, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 AD, for thyroid cancer fighters, the “Tenth Hope Batch,” on the occasion of their arrival to receive treatment with radioactive iodine in Egypt.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Director General of the Foundation, Mr. Omar Barzeq, conveyed the greetings of Hajj Abdel Wasi Hayel, Chairman of the Founders’ Council, and Ms. Thikra Al-Nono, Vice Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, to all patients and companions from the Tenth Batch of Hope, wishing them safety and a pleasant stay within the framework of their medical trip program in Cairo.
The Foundation’s director, Barziq, also expressed his happiness at the arrival of the Foundation’s guests, after the suffering of travel, preparations, and follow-ups that lasted weeks until they arrived.
During his speech, Barzeeq thanked Qatar Charity for its support for this Batch of thyroid cancer patients, explaining that the Foundation is keen to continue the project to provide hope for this group of patients due to the lack of treatment in Yemen and the ban on entry due to war conditions.
Noting that the project to receive thyroid cancer patients for treatment in Egypt is considered one of the most important successful projects that the Foundation has achieved since its founding in April 2022. Patients are also sent from all Yemeni governorates without exception.
He added that the Foundation and all its members will be alongside the patients to serve them and provide everything necessary for the success of the treatment program and their complete recovery, and their return to Yemen and to their families safely.
For her part, Dr. Zeenat Saeed, a nuclear medicine specialist, provided medical advice to patients before, during and after taking treatment with radioactive iodine, noting that adherence to medical instructions is very important so the benefit be completed and for everyone to return to Yemen in good health.
It is worth noting that this Batch comes under the generous sponsorship of Qatar Charity as part of the Foundation’s projects to treat thyroid cancer patients in Egypt.
The reception was attended by the Foundation’s Department Directors and Staff.
